Nematologist
Nematologists are scientists that study nematodes. Some nematologists identify and study the nematodes in the soil to help farmers grow enough healthy food for everyone. A plant and soil nematologist extract nematodes from the samples they take from different environments, including farms. Nematologists use microscopes and can identify and count the nematodes found in the soil and plant material. They can also identify the symptoms that these eelworms cause on plants. Nematologists help farmers to make their soil healthier which will grow healthier plants.
